Dr. Nada Milosavljevic, or "Dr. Milo" as she is affectionately known by her colleagues and patients, has been committed to promoting integrative care and complementary and alternative medical (CAM) treatments long before becoming a Harvard-trained physician well known for providing them.
Dr. Milo’s journey began while she was a student at Notre Dame Law School. Her early interests in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices led to a career as a successful patent and IP attorney with a passion for securing innovative, accessible approaches to healthcare and health services. Her experiences in the boardroom led her straight back to the classroom. As a medical student, "Dr. Milo" became increasingly committed to advancing evidence-based integrative treatments to give patients more choice, more control, and a greater understanding of their health and wellness regimens.
After graduating from medical school, Dr. Milo completed her residency at Brown University in adult psychiatry and then attended Harvard Medical School for fellowships in child, adolescent, and forensic psychiatry. Her experiences at Brown and Harvard, her commitment to integrative medicine, and her passion for innovation formed the basis of the creation and launch of the Integrative Health Program at Massachusetts General Hospital, a collaborative program with Boston-area school clinics to treat and educate high school students who suffer from anxiety and stress conditions.
Today, Dr. Milo continues her work at Mass General and Harvard in addition to serving as the founder of Sage Tonic. She holds certifications in regenerative and functional medicine, medical acupuncture, Ayurvedic medicine, and Chinese herbal treatments and practices integrative medicine for cognitive and behavioral conditions, all of which inform and enhance the products and therapies Sage Tonic offers.
Dr. Milo is the only MD in the United States who is also a certified tea specialist. She is uniquely qualified to offer an accessible and efficacious line of CAM-based therapies.
The Sage Tonic mobile app, teas, and towelettes are all designed to promote relaxation, focus, energy, healthy sleep, and more. The mobile app enables users to experience a holistic sensory experience that combines audio, visual, olfactory, taste, and touch therapies as part of a personalized comprehensive wellness strategy to support self-care and long-term preventive care options. Sage Tonic is the result of a deep commitment to advance easy-to-use medical treatment alternatives and provide them to patients wherever they live, play, and work.
Dr. Milo serves on the advisory board of the Specialty Tea Institute (STI). In that capacity, she helped create and teach the first STI Tea and Health course to leading members of the tea industry. She is a contributing health and wellness writer for Tea Magazine and The Daily Tea as well as a published author in many medical and business journals.
